Pandit Steady Nerves and a Strong Heart

Suggested Listening: Pandit – Steady Nerves and a Strong Heart EP

Pandit Steady Nerves and a Strong Heart

Sometimes I’m amazed what some artists give away for free.  One of those times occurred the other day when Lance Smith aka Lumberton, Texas’ Pandit dropped his Steady Nerves and a Strong Heart EP for free to all his faithful fans.  This is not the first time he’s dished out quality music (still loving those demos!).  Cinematic, sometimes cavernous, sometimes mellow living room chills, always on point.  Go grab it.

A Birthday Mix by Elias

Today my son Elias turns 2.  Kind of unbelievable how fast time flies.  He is pure happiness all the time and has changed my life completely (in a good way of course).  Over the past few weeks we’ve noticed he’s REALLY taken to some of the music I’ve been playing during dinner. And when I say taken to I mean dancing, singing, and generally rocking out to it.  So in typical music blogger fashion I decided to chronicle them in a mix.  Take a listen:

mp3: The Futureheads – Sun Goes Down

mp3: Sunglasses – Whiplash

mp3: Five O’Clock Heroes – Rough Boys

mp3: Sonic Youth – Kool Thing (Cracks Remix)

mp3: Dinosaur Bones – Birthright

mp3: Daniel J. Santillan – Do For You

mp3: Triptides – Shadows

mp3: Chalk And Numbers – Here With (Each Other)

mp3: Pandit – Artichoke

mp3: Ice Cream Shout – Marianne

mp3: Rakim – Let The Rhythm Hit ‘Em

mp3: School Of Seven Bells – Camarilla

Sunday Hi-5: Navajo Bixby, Labyrinth Ear, Sri Aurobindo, Frankie Rose and the Outs, and Pandit

Happy 4th of July!!!  Its a fine day in Bmore for sure and I think I’m going to try to get some RnR in a big way this holiday.  I had been pining over what songs I should slide into this Hi-5 an whether or not I should have a patriotic theme.  In the end it was too hard to pick so I gave up following homer Simpson’s motto of life “Never Try”.  Oh well.  These songs are good though, so that’s something…right?
