Market East

Sometimes you just have to love Facebook.  The other day I was scanning me Facebook feed and came across James of White Birds (formerly of Drink Up Buttercup) hyping Philly’s Market East.  Never heard of them, but at that point seemed as good as any to do the incredibly difficult task of clicking on a link [tongue-in-cheek].  Woooooooooooow.  Market East is a trio that plays gorgeous subway platform acoustic harmonic pop in the same vein as Simon & Garfunkel.  This is beautiful vocal pop music at its purest form.  No fancy effects, layers, or what have you…just a crackly mic and an absurd amount of talent (and the knack for writing songs about the ladies).  I was particularly taken aback when they drop everything except the vocals on “Ainsley”.
