A few weeks ago I posted on the Sydney duo Au.Ra and their sweet chilled pop tune “Sun”. They’ve laid it back even further, this time stripping out the vocals entirely with “Jane’s Lament”:
Today Yes Please released Guerre’s split single Rashad (Loose Pace) + For Qwanisha. These two tracks continue to show Guerre’s brilliance at composing intimate and slow rhythmic songs that make me close my eyes and dream of that unreal love. The b-side, “For Qwanisha”, is the quieter…sultrier of the two.
A new LP is in the works for 2013. Download/Stream the full two tracks on the Yes Please Bandcamp.
Brisbane’s Nite Fields have just announced a new 7″ Vacation out on November 17th on Lost Race Records. The title track is an industrial swooner. Additionally their dark droning experimental pop is helping dim the lights on a computer-screen-lit basement-dwelling workday. I am so so thankful!
Stream/download the even deeper/darker B-side on the Nite Field’s SoundCloud page.

Australia’s Castratii are a deep cinematic shoegaze wonder that takes me back to listen to my parents’ Cocteau Twins and Eurythmics tapes. Eora, their new LP out now via Time No Place, turns the lights out quickly and takes you down that unknown tunnel echoing back industrial strings and reverbed stomps.
