Philadelphia’s Arc in Round and their song “Said Astray” (off of the mighty fine S/T LP out on La Société Expéditionnaire) was all ready dreampop soaked in reverb psychedlics before Michigan’s Benoît Pioulard got a hold of it. His reworked version multiplies the trip 10 times over.
Philadelphia’s Arc In Round released their debut S/T LP last month and I’ve recently found the time to really take in the full sound. The band consisting of famed philly producer (Kurt Vile, War On Drugs, etc.) Jeff Zeigler, co-songwriter Mikele Edwards, bassist Josh Meakim and drummer Matt Ricchini puts together a dense shoegazish rockish sound that is just plain solid. The shift from darker broodier songs and brighter pop vibes, which I attribute partly to the two different vocal styles of Zeigler and Edwards, on the album really make the whole LP and enjoyable listen.
