Australia’s Glisk just dropped an fluttering electronic gem in “Fold Us”. Its part of their upcoming EP Hermaion which will be released in a few weeks. Meanwhile if you haven’t checked their first EP Servants Heart, you should (scoop it for free at bandcamp).
Those moments like the first edge of the sun peaking over the horizon…the first few rain drops hitting the ground before a downpour…staring into a candles last few seconds of flame. Cinematic real life moments. Those are the visuals flowing from to Ohio experimental composer Ouisa Hound‘s music. Two new tracks were just made available on his SoundCloud that are apart of an upcoming release Enclosures and they are quite beautiful/breathtaking…
Ahhh…Virginia’s hooking up play some seriously infectious and raw lo-fi rock and roll. Scrap the lush vocal harmonies and layered guitars for some distorted bass and flat/phat drums as well as some vocals we can yell sing/yell along – hooking up does this well. Check their 4 track wonder groin pains on bandcamp or buy the 7″ vinyl via Evil Weevil.

The Hunted Hunting the Hunter aka Melbourne, Australia’s Nathaniel Morse has done it – he’s knocked my ears/mind around his vibrant rock-ish tune “Three Colours” A song that…
“is a love song. A sinister story of a being that is built. Built too much. Becomes aware. You fall in love. Asks to be killed. Cannot let go.”
Yes, yes, yes, and more please.
Oh but there is more:
I don’t know if I’ve run into a more catchy and immediately accessable three songs than LA’s Joel Kynan Williams aka KYNAN’s newest Abel EP. This is that enjoy-singing-along indie rock that seems to be a rarity these days…and it’s free. Support this dude if he comes to your town – totally worth your $.
mp3: KYNAN – He Just Wants To Make Love (this song gets stuck in my head so so easily)

Today the new PORTALS mixtape dropped and it features Baltimore’s Secret Mountains and a sweet new live version of “Make Love Stay”. They will also be a part of the PORTALS SXSW showcase on March 15th (details). The mix also features new tracks from the other showcase performers (The-Drum, Dreams, Chrome Sparks, Hundred Waters, etc.). Head on over there to download/stream it.
Colatina, Brazil’s We Are Pirates play some pretty swell hazed out rhythmic electronic pop. They’ve just made their Kids Practice EP available for stream/download on SoundCloud and I suggest you do that at your leisure. Here’s my favorite off it:
